"From The Fans" voting is over. The discussion got quite heated. BBV thinks perspective got lost. The insights from 2 commenters to capture what we feel is 'the real deal' -

"This award was not about 'godug' vs Hindy. It was about Corvette Racing and Corvette Nation. 'godug' simply is the face of Corvette Racing and every hard-working, ass-busting Corvette team-member and fan.
There is no ONE individual more deserving of the award than John Hindhaugh. He is passionate about the ALMS and EVERYONE who competes there. He is huge supporter of Corvette Racing. We love him and everything he does.
But, I hope ALMS fans note that Corvette Racing contributions go beyond the race track. Traveling to Universities to speak to students - to inspire them to watch ALMS / to get into the racing business. Traveling to Green Racing Conferences held with the DOE. Charity work - such as with the Austin Hatcher Foundation. All of this often at the behest of the ALMS, to help 'the cause'.
It has been a tough Corvette year. From OUR screw-up in Sebring through all the other 2010 moments. So, when the fans set up this "From the Fans" competition, Corvette took it as just another challenge. As always, we played by the rules, but showed the power of Corvette Nation.
It's not 'the world' vs Corvette. We don't think that way. But, to quote that beloved Animal House leader, "It ain't over til we say it is over!" That IS Corvette Racing. That IS what we believe.
God bless Hindy, the ALMS, and the Corvette Nation."
