| Corvette Racing came to the ALMS finale already champions, but drivers Jan Magnussen and Antonio Garcia still had the driver's championship up for grabs. They needed a 7th place finish or better to take the championship.
Weather had been a factor all weekend, causing tricky conditions for qualifying in particular. The Vettes ended up qualifying P4 and P7.
Petit is always tough. The smallest things can kill your race. The #4 crew saw their bad luck continue with an alternator failure early in the race, ultimately putting them 8 laps down and out of contention. In true Corvette Racing fashion, the crew never gave up, got the problem fixed, and got back out on the track to represent Chevrolet and Corvette and put on a show for the thousands of Corvette fans.
The #3 crew ran a good race, but "good" wasn't enough for victory. Untimely cautions and pit strategy put the #3 1 lap down from the leaders and ultimately a P6 finish. Luckily, that was good enough to clinch the driver's championship.
Final Driver's Championship Points: 135 - Jan Magnussen / Antonio Garcia 129 - Dirk Muller 105 - Tommy Milner / Oliver Gavin
Final Team Championship Points: 171 - Corvette Racing 141 - BMW RLL 120 - SRT Motorsports
Final Manufacture's Championship Points: 174 - Chevrolet 154 - BMW 137 - SRT
