Great effort guys, I'm sure you'll be 1 and 2 in 2009! In all classes, this year's race was the best I've seen for a very long time!
--- sparkind from England on 06.15.2008 at 12:34AM
I'm sorry? 2005 is a long time ago but if you want to cling to that too.... Prodrive had to compete with Pirelli tyres against P&M who had 6 or so years experience with the tracks the ALMS competes on. And infact P&M faced the same problem against the Oreca Vipers in 1999/2000.
Also the Aston doesn't recieve any breaks in the rules at LeMans, those where closed up by the end of the 2005 ALMS season btw and the Aston was competative enough without them, and has beaten the Corvette in a straight race twice in a row.
But I surpose P&M racing themself is great practice, ha, when no one will compete against them. Not because of the speed of the car, but because of all the bitching and sniping aimed Prodives way in 2005.

2006 sorry.

You guys fought hard, and did a nice job! Better luck next year, boys!! Next year, we'll get them!
Love the BadBoyVettes ;) enjoyed watching you

--- Philip from VA on 06.15.2008 at 10:50AM
Great effort by the team.Enjoyed the webcam immensely.Keep fighting
--- John Peck from Loganville, GA USA on 06.15.2008 at 10:51AM
How where the fighting in to the last stint when they where nearly 2 laps down.
Got to cling to something I surpose and I don't doubt you'll be blaming the weather again this year.
--- Sir Jimmy from unknown on 06.15.2008 at 11:18AM
The 'Vettes weren't the ones that demanded their competiton be given performance restrictions like Aston did when they raced over here. Cling to that, Jimmy.
--- Sir Brucie from Liberty City on 06.15.2008 at 11:39AM
first off, Congratulations to Team Aston Martin and #009. as they say, "let the best team win". with that said, Congrats to Team Corvette on 2nd and 3rd WINS!! great job to everyone and any/all involved! witchin' race....i could feel your pain in the rain in the darkness. have a safe trip home from across the pond! as always, will continue to keep tabs on our Beloved C6.Rs.
Note to Eddie: thanks for your note! nice to know i can be "missed". i can be elusive, but know WHEN to send MY Corvette Team Spirit Vibes and know when to be Polite as well. thanks again to ALL that BBV does for US fans!
--- SASSI from Nashville, TN on 06.15.2008 at 2:02PM
Congrats to both Aston009 and the Corvette team. The race was great this year. And next year Im sure the Corvette-team will bring back the Crown to where it belongs! =)
--- Congaman from Sweden on 06.15.2008 at 3:10PM
Watched the race in its entirety, we put up a great fight, no reason to be down. Just needed a little race luck and it didnt come from the gods.
--- CK from Baton Rouge on 06.15.2008 at 3:27PM
You guys fought till the end, many people can say whatever they want even if we were a lap down. The 64 could have stopped fighting after its alternator problem and look they got a podium finish. We can't say the 009 team wanted it more, cause it was obvious Corvette Racing went there to handle business. As much as many people wanted for the 009 to have catastrophic failure, thats not the way i wanted you guys to get into 1st place. This has been the fastest i have ever seen the C6Rs, but the 009 was just faster like everyone expected it to be. Come back safe, and i hope i can be at Le Mans next year to watch you guys fight for 1st and 2nd place. Great race keep your heads up! Oh yeah and the Pitcam was great I was on it all race, it was awesome talking to the drivers and to doug. Thank them as well for taking time off such an important race to do a Q & A with the fans. Those are some stand up guys right there.
--- Joel from Miami, Florida on 06.15.2008 at 5:31PM
Well said Joel, very well said. I didn't thank the crew and principles enough for chatting with us. If only my late brother-in -law Ken Buzzard had been alive to particpate in the fun!
WOW!
--- JD Peck from Loganville,GA USA on 06.15.2008 at 6:45PM
Oh and congrats to anyone who has ever been a part of Corvette Racing and their racing heritage. The ACO who organizes Le Mans will be honoring Corvette by naming a section of the track the "Corvette Curves". To have a name of track at Le Mans shows how much respect the world has for our favorite race cars. Congrats Team!

--- grande from ohio on 06.15.2008 at 9:50PM
Great job TEAM CORVETTE. Hey, luck can't go our way every year. We need Aston Martin to come back to the states.
--- J.R. from CT on 06.15.2008 at 10:35PM
Hats off to Corvette Racing yet again. A great team, a great pair of cars, and a great race. Thank you for representing the United States and come home safe to dominate the ALMS the rest of the year.
--- Mike from Dallas, TX USA on 06.15.2008 at 10:50PM
Thanks so much for letting us be part of the team through this website. Can you imagine AM or Audi allowing this much contact with what was going on? You guys were great to offer this opportunity to all of us fans and followers. I really hope the coming rule changes allow for such an effort. This keeps the interest in Corvette ,and GM, and P&M expanding. It also let's us outsiders know you insiders as people and not work stations.
--- JerryL from Miami on 06.16.2008 at 1:36AM
Great performance by everyone. We can't wait for the race at the new Lime Rock Park. New configuration and pavement.
--- johnnyoooo from Rochester N.Y. on 06.16.2008 at 6:52AM
Huge thanks to CR for all the work and effort through the entire event, and huge thanks to BBV for the feed and constant weather reports! BBV coverage was better than the tv... they got us photos of the 63's nose while all the tv guys would do with their 1000 cameras is guess about it. I'll be looking forward to next time!
--- SteelBlue91 from NC on 06.16.2008 at 2:36PM
Thanks for the coverage during the race. Thanks for being standing by to answer all our questions also Dan. And to the Corvette Racing team THANK YOU for all the hardwork you do. Thanks for taking time to speak with us during the race. It was very much appreciated!
--- anomirc6 from unknown on 06.16.2008 at 6:05PM
You guys did one hell of a great job! The attitude and professionalism was evident thru the web cam every moment! Thanks for letting us fans ride along! Perhaps the ACO will allow the restrictors to come off so we can race "Straight Up". Thanks again for the epic battle! I am sure that history will remember these races among the all time greatest in sports car racing! Congrats on a fantastic drive!
--- race artist from www.cuaa-art.com on 06.16.2008 at 9:15PM
Can't win them all nice battle and it was close to the end. Hope GM continues and I hope AM come to ALMS to race here. The dollars may flow to AM if the sponsors liked the race. Your entire team effort is great!
--- SpeedpupC5 from C5 heaven on 06.17.2008 at 7:18PM
To Sir Jimmy Apparently you do not read very well. The cars were NOT nearly 2 laps down. The 63 car was on the same lap. This included a problem with brake pads. If not for that your Astons would have been toast.
--- Anomirc6 from North Carolina on 06.18.2008 at 8:31PM
Again it was a fantastic race! I think a tip of the hat should go to the Luc Alphand team as well for a fantastic performance! We should continue to support these guys as they carry the Corvette flag racing in Europe!
--- race artist from www.cuaa-art.com on 06.19.2008 at 12:31AM

--- Jose Ramon Lopez from Miami,Florida USA on 06.19.2008 at 1:59AM
I think that Aston Martin and Corvette ran really really well, but Corvette had problems, and the 009 Aston Martin DBR9 had flawless pit stops, and didn't break down. Good luck at Lime Rock, and maybe i'll be there for Mid-Ohio. I wish Aston Martin Racing would return to ALMS...
