Celebrating the 50th anniversary of his 1st place win in the GT class at Sebring in 1957, Dr. Dick Thompson accepts a BBV hat at last Saturday's race. Thompson, in his #4 Corvette along with racing partner Gaston Andrey, finished the race 12th overall.
Thompson's many accomplishments racing Corvettes in the late 50's & 60's helped to solidify the early Vette's reputation as a worthy competitor against arch-rivals Mercedes, Porsche and Jaguar. |
Met Dr. Thompson at the Sebring GM Corvette Corral Tent during the race!!. Gave me his autograph! What an honor! Thanks to him for helping begin the tradition that Ron, Johnny, Jan, Max, & the the Two Olie's continue today!!
