The European FIA GT Championship is heading into its last 3 rounds and the title race is even closer. After a strong outing in Brno, Mike Hezemans and Fabrizio Gollin will be trying to close the gap against the title leaders in the nr1 MC12. The sister car of Marcel Fassler qualified on Pole, and has a positive outlook towards the race. "It is still amazing to do the fastest lap in qualifying. It is always a good start for the race weekend. We also hope the nr 6 car will be close to the Maserati cars tomorrow."

Another C6R will be there representing Corvette in the form of DKR Engineering. "Although we have worked with other teams in the FIA GT Championship, this will effectively be our first participation. We are very happy to be able to take place in this round, and our participation in the rest of the 2008 season depends on how we perform in Nogaro."

Sunday will also see the GT3 Corvettes in Race 2 after a dissapointing end to Race 1 on Saturday. Race one started off perfectly, when the championship leaders in the number 20 Ford spun off, while the number 1 Callaway Z06R (2nd in the title race, 2 points behind) tied second overall. With 10 minutes remaining, disaster struck when the rear diff broke ending any chance to benefit from the Ford's misfortune. The team will look to end the second race in better form from pole position.

Corvette Motorsport will have live coverage from each session Sunday including warmup for the GT1 and GT2, GT3 race 2, and the main GT1 event. The races are really early in the morning for the US but they've made this handy timzone chart to help out us Westerners.
