| In 1988, The Corvette Challenge Series emerged in North America. 50+ special cars were built.
Now, a bazillion years later, the idea resurfaces. A new Corvette-only racing category will be included in the Euro-based 2009 BF Goodrich Long Distance Championship.
The Corvette Competition Cup will race at the Nurburgring - North loop Nordschleife + the Grand Prix track on 10 Saturdays - 9 4-hour races and 1 6-hour enduro will make up the 2009 schedule.
The Cup will feature specially-designed Corvette Competition R cars. The 6.2 L LS3 V8 engines provide a maximum of 500hp. More program info is found here in the 'News' section. |
