Godzilla Grows A Pair?
Godzilla Grows A Pair?

Tyler @ CorvetteMotorSport.com gets the nod for a great tip….as a Nissan GTR in GT1 [?] accoutrement breaks cover in Japan and is caught by the Internet[s]. And again.

....And for sure this is NOT a Japan homeland Super GT Series car. [www.supergt.net].

So, what gives?
First, a Ford GT, now the Godzilla GTR in GT1? Is it true that once Corvette -‘The Dominator’ announced its departure from the class everyone else poured in?

Or is it just the aligning of stars for the new rules and a return to production-based race cars [see Audi R8 GT3]?

Or what if this is a GT2 car?
A visual tip may be the rear wing, which looks in synch with the 2010 rules [we think]. We saw the same straight-edge wing on the Corvette GT2 test car.
And the smallish 4.5L Nissan engine reeks GT2, as well.

Regardless, what if Nissan is planning a Le Mans 24 assault the way they did before?

FYI- The 2009 Le Mans pre-selection list is already out with 8 GT1's - 4 Corvettes and 2 Astons [we can’t in good conscience count Bell Motorsports and, remember, Team Modena bolted to GT2 with Ferrari]. The # of cars that can race Le Mans is limited to 55 spread across the 4 categories. 29 entries were "pre-selected", if they enter. With the LM24 test day cancelled, the Wednesday free practice and Thursday qualifying will set the grid for Saturday, 13th June at 15h00.

BBV needs to check some facts [or a reader may know the answer]....Could Nissan just show up and qualify without a pre-selection invite?

Just in case, paint up the Vette like Mothra and get those 2 little nymphs for the pit cart.
