1959 BadBoy Paint Scheme
March 02 2009 03:05:44 PM EST
The famous Purple People Eater from Nickey Chevrolet. 1959 B / Production National Champion - the car only finished 1st or 2nd when it finished....and that happened ALOT!

A 'sick' paint job to stand out, a one-eyed [!] driver / jockey to deliver results, and a 'Take No Prisoners' approach - 50's style!

Go Speed Racer, go.

This Corvette wasn't built purple, as that color wasn't a Corvette offering. So, it came out of the St. Louis Assembly Plant as a white body/black interior car, optioned with the 290hp fuel-injected 283, four-speed manual transmission, Posi-traction, heavy-duty brakes / suspension, and no heater / defroster.

Nickey Chevrolet of Chicago added the race prep of the day such as hood / trunklid tie-downs, side exhaust, a bigger fuel tank, safety chains underneath, a rollbar, a smaller windscreen, etc..

....and that crazy paint to mark his turf.
