I can't believe the new GT2 car is based on the ZR1, as if Porsche and Ferrari, weren't busy enough running around trying to build a car that can beat the Street legal version of the ZR1 in some aspect, I can't image the fear they have now trying to come up with a racecar that that can compete with the race version of the ZR1. It won't be long and corvette will be the number one sports car in the world , we need one of those maps like in risk showing our territory. Well I hope Porsche and Ferrari drivers are developing fire suits with a padded butt area because corvette is going give them a beating of a life time.

If you listened to his talk he said they are using the alum frame and some of the body pieces of the ZR1. The engine will be a destroked 7.0

the video also said next year with the 2010 regulations that they"ll have to have a 5.5 liter engine which will come out of the ls3 with alumanim heads and block. No matter how tough porsche and ferrari are Corvette will still dominate like they have these past 10 years and make them go away like the viper haha Go BBV Vettes God bless!!!!!

I'd like to nominate him as GM's next CEO!! lol, amen to his ending sentence, and as much as I'm a fan of all forms (including NASCAR) I really think that all the makers need to pull-out of the oval's until they either go back to their roots and becoming an asset to the car makers instead of just another company that pays to slap their sticker on the car.

Oh and another thing; that hood is so far the best part of the GT2!! Almost looks like the hood from a '72 Stingray!

The new GT2 machine doesn't have the ZR1's supercharger or carbon fiber brakes.
Why would anyone want Porsche and Ferrari to leave the GT2 class? Panoz should buy the Dodge Viper.
