That's Stile Bertone Design Director, Jason Castriota, hugging it out with a Jake-branded ZR1 snorkel. Why? Read on.
Stile Bertone, the reborn from bankruptcy [oops, sound familiar?] ex-Carrozzeria Bertone design house, is doing private-client work via Project M which will debut @ the 2009 Shanghai Auto Show on April 20.
Rumor said PM was a recrafted Nissan GT-R. Facts say it is a rebodied ZR1. Smart move if you really want to run with the SuperCars. Check out the Project M website and videos.
PM was created for a well-to-do collector in Asia via a price expected to be north of $2 million.
After the Shanghai showing, PM will be put through its paces at the Balocco Proving Grounds near Turin. Then, on April 25 / 26, the Bertone ZR1 one-off will have its first public outing on the luxury lawns of the concours d'elegance at Villa d'Este on Lake Como.
FYI- Jason Castriota did the Ferrari 599, Maserati Gran Turismo, and one-off Pininfarina Ferrari P4/5. So, pedigree is not the issue. Aero, weight mgt, and design will be added to the ZR1 platform. Jake’s internal guts and glory will stay. |
That is the ugliest car I've seen since the RX8. I wish he had started with a GT-R, at least it is ugly too!
