Le Mans 2010 Entries - Invites
Le Mans 2010 Entries - Invites
February 05 2010 07:28:29 AM EST
When Corvette Racing moved to GT2, it was good for US racing - Going to the class where the competition was. But, the LM24 entry question hung in the background - With the qualifying rules to get in, the non-demise of GT1, and no 2009 GT2 championship or Petit LM win to depend upon.

Ah, but thanks to the ‘invite’ nature of the Le Mans entry system, all is good. Better than ever actually. As Corvettes will race for 2 class championships in 2010.

In GT1, 3 Corvette C6R's battle 2 Ford GT’s and a Saleen, Aston Martin, and Lambo [Again, that Japan car? DNF, now!]

* Luc Alphand Aventures - Chevrolet Corvette C6.R

* Matech Competition - Ford GT
* Marc VDS Racing - Ford GT
* JLOC - Lamborghini Murcielago GT1
* Larbre Competition - Saleen S7R
* Young Driver AMR - Aston Martin DBR9

In GT2, the factory CR C6R's, are fighting 2 BMW factory-supported M3’s, the Modena-blessed Risi F430’s, and the factory-'drivered' AF Corse [Ferrari F1 test guy, Fisichella is in], with of course the Lizards [and IMSA team car] lurking. 2 BMW, 4 Porsche, 6 Ferrari, a Jag [more demo laps, Paul?], AM, and Spyker [or Saab!] stand in the way of the 1st Corvette GT2 Le Mans victory.
