| Le Mans 2010 Entries - Invites | |
|

| When Corvette Racing moved to GT2, it was good for US racing - Going to the class where the competition was. But, the LM24 entry question hung in the background - With the qualifying rules to get in, the non-demise of GT1, and no 2009 GT2 championship or Petit LM win to depend upon. Ah, but thanks to the invite nature of the Le Mans entry system, all is good. Better than ever actually. As Corvettes will race for 2 class championships in 2010.
In GT1, 3 Corvette C6R's battle 2 Ford GTs and a Saleen, Aston Martin, and Lambo [Again, that Japan car? DNF, now!]
* Luc Alphand Aventures - Chevrolet Corvette C6.R * Luc Alphand Aventures - Chevrolet Corvette C6.R * Peka Racing NV - Chevrolet Corvette C6.R [you know these guys] * Matech Competition - Ford GT * Marc VDS Racing - Ford GT * JLOC - Lamborghini Murcielago GT1 * Larbre Competition - Saleen S7R * Young Driver AMR - Aston Martin DBR9
In GT2, the factory CR C6R's, are fighting 2 BMW factory-supported M3s, the Modena-blessed Risi F430s, and the factory-'drivered' AF Corse [Ferrari F1 test guy, Fisichella is in], with of course the Lizards [and IMSA team car] lurking. 2 BMW, 4 Porsche, 6 Ferrari, a Jag [more demo laps, Paul?], AM, and Spyker [or Saab!] stand in the way of the 1st Corvette GT2 Le Mans victory.
* Corvette Racing - Chevrolet Corvette C6.R * Corvette Racing - Chevrolet Corvette C6.R * BMW Motorsport - BMW M3 GT2 * BMW Motorsport - BMW M3 GT2 * Flying Lizard Motorsports - Porsche 997 GT3 RSR * IMSA Performance Matmut - Porsche 997 GT3 RSR * ProSpeed Competition - Porsche 997 GT3 RSR * Team Felbermayr-Proton - Porsche 997 GT3 RSR * AF Corse - Ferrari F430 GT2 * BMS Scuderia Italia - Ferrari F430 GT2 * Hankook Team Farnbacher - Ferrari F430 GT2 * Modena Group Racing - Ferrari F430 GT2 * Risi Competizione - Ferrari F430 GT2 * Risi Competizione - Ferrari F430 GT2 * JMW Motorsport - Aston Martin Vantage GT2 * RSR - Jaguar XKR GT2 * Spyker Squadron - Spyker C8 Laviolette GT2R
So, the question IS - Which C6R, GT1 or the new GT2, will be faster @ La Sarthe? |
