Just coming back from Le Mans. I'm an Aston fan, but the Astons wouldn't exist without the Vettes. As usual, the Yellows made a fast and strong race, so congratulations. The C6.R is a FANTASTIC car (and the noise... BBBRRRRRROOOAAAAAA !) Bringing a car to 2nd in class in those conditions is a great result.

I was there and i'm proud...finishing second in this "britain" weather, it's not so bad....i'm just thinking about the #64 especially for Oliver, Olivier and Max...waiting for this race and don't get a chance to show how fast they are...bad luck!!

Corvtte taking second under this year's rule suck. Last year was the same, because Aston Martins have different restrictors. On top of that there were 6 Astons, to just two Corvettes. So even with this bad advantage Corvette came second. Then, Ron Fellows was 30 secs a lap, in the rain, faster than the Aston Martin and had the guts to go fast, when that safety car came out, and ended what was sure to be a great finish. Corvette Racing...U Rock!!!!

there were more than 2 corvettes, just puttin that out there... But corvette racing is really the only competetor to AM

yep, there were 5 Vettes running - both of the Luc Alphand chassis have previously won at Le Mans! Spoke to Luc just after he'd had a spin somewhere near Mulsanne corner - 720 degrees and new set of pants needed! Gutted for the crew of the #64 car, but just wanted to say thanks to Godug and all the guys (you know who you are) for a great weekend again.Oh, and the weather is actually okay in the UK today! Watch out for a good story in the New York Times next weekend :-)

Just got back from Le Mans and all I can say is it would not be the same without the vettes they 'BRING THE NOISE' 2001/02/04/05/06 winners Corvette at Le Mans are Legends and will back next year to regain their crown. Well done on the 2nd place in that nasty weather, we hope to leave it at home next year and get a Tan

Thanks to the P&M guys for their graft last week. I'm so used to watching the 2 works cars relentless laps - seeing just 1 was a real pain. #63 flew the flag well and the pit work was the usual 'class of the field' see you next year!

The Aston Martins thoroughly deserved their victory, every year the Astons have beaten the corvettes at speed and consecutive lap times, but it always fell apart in the last 4 hours or so! So this year the DBR9's thoroughly deserved their victory and they got it after 3 long years of trying. Congratulations Aston Martin Racing, do the same next year!

Well Jon, and the rest over the pond... I might believe that the AM's are as good as they are seem to to be, if the Corvettes were not divergently engine restricted and weight penalized for being what they are.

I say "run what you brung" and we'll see what the AM's really have going for them.

Afterall, rules are made. But it's up to their interpretation... as there is not such thing as "cheating"... we here in America call it innovation.

Chicane, what do you mean by "divergently engine restricted and weight penalized " ? At LeMans i think the Astons and the C6R were on the same weight, and they all get the 2007 ACO restrictors...Bigger for the 2 valves per cylinder LS7.R.

The Vettes have pretty big restrictors on them(ive seen them up close), its actually pretty rediculous. for them to get 2nd is absolutely amazing. next year the C6.R's will rise up & destroy the AM's. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

I've found the best sectors during the 1st qualifying session and the C6R's did 2 of the 3 sectors of the track : the 1st (from the start until the Tertre Rouge corner) for the #63 and the 3rd from Mulsanne until the end for the #64. but in the 2nd sector there is an entire second of difference between the best C6R and the AM and Saleen. So I agree with Evan about the amazing 2nd place of the #63. See all the team next year for the revenge !!!

prodrive doesn't get $$$$ from Aston Martin. The C6.R shares next to nothing with a C6. No weight or advantages were given to any prodrive-built DBR9s at Le Mans this year. Oreca had several rookie drivers.
