| So, how is it that the Corvette Racing team can run a 3rd car so easily? We know the car and spares are part of the C6R fleet, but where does a whole new crew suddenly come from? Craigslist, no doubt.
Real answer: Pratt and Miller has the shop full of seasoned crew guys that know how to do it all.
So, Corvette Racing grabs a check sheet, a clipboard, and posts a note in the PM lunchroom to suddenly and seamlessly run 3 cars just like that.
In contrast, McLaren F1 needs $250M, hyper tech systems, and what seems to be the population of a small country to turn qualifying pit stops for ONLY 2 cars into an international mess!
Yeah, racing takes $$, but success is more than just deep pockets. You got to know stuff, have the right players.......and bring attitude. |
